Snapshots: Life Lately (Photography)

I haven't written a personal post in a while so here's to a much needed catch up with you all! Suhale and I went on 2 recent trips - one to Durban for Eid and then one to Cape Town for a friend's wedding.

In between these trips, my car broke down on the way home from campus and it was quite a sinking feeling without Suhale being in Pretoria that week.  Thanks to the help and support of good friends and deep fried mac 'n cheese squares from Mr Big Stuff, I pulled through and all is well again.

I've also been spending some time with cool people!  Suhale and I had a blast traveling.  Post Ramadaan eating is unbelievable and so fun!

My friend, now colleague, Raymund had his doctoral review and it went excellently.  He is brilliant in every way and I am so grateful to be learning from him all the time.

Ross, a varsity friend, and I spent a Friday antiquing, it was such a fun day pretending to be pretentious and knowledgeable about antiques. We also had a delicious lunch at Pure.  It was a good day.

My sister and I spent some quality time catching up in Durban.  She is a cool architect.  Sometimes we exchange jewelry.

When I was in Cape Town, I caught up with another friend, Phil, who is an excellent comedian, plays the ukelele, tin guitars and sings comedy.  So cool! He also helped me get a spot on the line up at Armchair Comedy.  It was really fun.  I love comedy, I really do (and thank you for this photo, Phil).

I have started working at the University as a part time lecturer, which is a new and exciting challenge.  It's great getting to know all the students and being on the other side of what life was like back in the day.  It's also wonderful to be involved in the formative part of the students' careers, guiding them and sharing the knowledge I have gained in practice and learning from them as well.  Because I am much smaller than them, I have no idea how they take me seriously. :-)

That's all folks!  See you soon!
