Truth Coffee, Cape Town

If you follow me on Instagram, you would know that Suhale and I have been road tripping along the West Coast of South Africa all through last week.

I will be doing a full post on the entire journey and more in depth posts of some of the more interesting places we stopped at.

Truth Coffee in Cape Town.

We got to Truth Coffee on our last day of the holiday.  We were craving a good coffee and after hearing about and seeing pictures of Truth Coffee on Pinterest, we knew we had to visit it.

The cafe interior is fascinating.  Think industrial science fiction with an edge of rock and roll.  The waiters were dressed according to steam punk too.

As a designer, I enjoyed being in the shop.  The shopfitting, steam punk style and finishes spoke to my taste.  It's quite an opulent interior, though - don't fool yourself into thinking that the construction materials can be found at a DIY store - they are all custom and expensive, - the details are quite finicky and the style is over the top
As a coffee drinker, my coffee was disappointing - my cappuccino was not of the correct proportions and I could taste that the machine was dirty when the coffee was made.  At a hefty R25 for a sub standard cup, I wasn't happy with my drink and I wouldn't go back for coffee. Thanks for that Truth Coffee.
