Interior Inspiration: Pantone Colour of the Year: Marsala

Pantone recently announced its colour pick for the year 2015, Marsala and I am completely besotted.

While Marsala is not consistent with the regular colour trends I've been seeing lately on Pinterest, I predict that this is a defining colour, one of those that announces itself and is about to break big as an interior colour.

Marsala is sophisticated.  It is elegant with a touch of personality.  Marsala feels like a colour of old Europe with Emerald and Charcoal Grey.

When I see this colour, I'm instantly reminded of the film, Amelie.  This hue is synonymous with her world - it is rich, sophisticated and classic yet effortless.

Replicating Amelie's apartment is one way you can celebrate with this colour.  If you'd like to mull over it a little though, I've spent some time putting together some Marsala inspiration.

Marsala is delicious as an Overall or Accent colour to your interior.  How do you feel about Marsala?  Would you incorporate it into your home?
