Friday Afternoon Antiquing

One of the reasons I'm in love with the capital city is not only its own history and heritage, but  the culture of respect and awe for the old and historical.

I love imagining the stories behind vintage pieces, the people they may have come across and their destinies to follow.  Call me old fashioned, but for me, watching BBC's Antiques Roadshow is fascinating.  I love the experts' "old chap" accents and their general knowledge of all things old is darn impressive.

On Friday, Suhale and I decided to stop at An-tea-kettle in Queenswood for a little afternoon antiquing.  The sunlight cast a golden glow on treasured pieces and we were just in time to catch the last half hour of store opening time.

Here are some of the treasures we found:

You may remember a post I did about the Windsor Chairs I purchased - they came from this very same shop.  If you're in Pretoria, go have a visit.  An-tea-kettle is part of the Pretoria Antique Route - a number of affordable antique shops in this area of Pretoria.  ;-)

What are your favourite vintage / antique pieces?  I want to know!
